Sitting in a diner with a friend, she grabbed a bunch of spoons off the table to illustrate what chronic illness <em data-start=\"1046\" data-end=\"1052\">felt<\/em> like. I\u2019m not even sure it <em data-start=\"2389\" data-end=\"2393\">is<\/em> a drawer anymore.<\/p><p data-start=\"2413\" data-end=\"2583\">Some days I wake up with three chipped teaspoons and a baby spoon from 1989.<br data-start=\"2489\" data-end=\"2492\" \/>Other days, I\u2019ve got a ladle, a shrimp fork, and something I think might be a melon baller.<\/p><p data-start=\"2585\" data-end=\"2602\">That\u2019s ADHD life.<\/p><p data-start=\"2604\" data-end=\"2787\">It\u2019s not consistent. It\u2019s not fair. And it sure as hell doesn\u2019t work like everyone else\u2019s does.<br data-start=\"2699\" data-end=\"2702\" \/>But that doesn\u2019t mean <em data-start=\"2724\" data-end=\"2732\">you\u2019re<\/em> broken. It means your system needs different settings.<\/p><p data-start=\"2789\" data-end=\"2962\">Also: <strong data-start=\"2795\" data-end=\"2851\">just thinking about doing something can cost spoons.<\/strong><br data-start=\"2851\" data-end=\"2854\" \/>So can decision-making. So can noise. So can <em data-start=\"2899\" data-end=\"2921\">trying not to forget<\/em> what you just remembered 10 seconds ago.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5215333 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5215333\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3 data-start=\"2969\" data-end=\"3014\">So&#8230; What Do You <em data-start=\"2994\" data-end=\"2998\">Do<\/em> With This Info?<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"3016\" data-end=\"3312\">\n<li data-start=\"3016\" data-end=\"3067\">\n<p data-start=\"3018\" data-end=\"3067\">Start noticing your <strong data-start=\"3041\" data-end=\"3057\">spoon budget<\/strong> each day.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3068\" data-end=\"3144\">\n<p data-start=\"3070\" data-end=\"3144\">Plan for <strong data-start=\"3082\" data-end=\"3103\">spoon variability<\/strong>. It\u2019s not a failure \u2014 it\u2019s your reality.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3145\" data-end=\"3217\">\n<p data-start=\"3147\" data-end=\"3217\">Rest <strong data-start=\"3155\" data-end=\"3165\">before<\/strong> you&#8217;re spoonless. (Yes, I know that feels illegal.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3218\" data-end=\"3267\">\n<p data-start=\"3220\" data-end=\"3267\">Say no to stuff that isn\u2019t worth the spoons.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3268\" data-end=\"3312\">\n<p data-start=\"3270\" data-end=\"3312\">Accommodate yourself unapologetically.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3314\" data-end=\"3491\">You&#8217;re not weak.
